I haven't put up any photos in a while because I've been a little lazy but I really do love photo blogs and the visual appeal of having a vertical stack of beautiful pictures bisecting a lackadaisical page.

a little lesson in history...

Found this cool little video by Amine Beckoury, Francois Dumoulin and David Fernandez while perusing around. It tells a little story 'bout how sometimes our bad intentions can somehow end up helping people, and in the end, that's what we'd rather have happen.

how much i miss them...

May I introduce you to Mr. Jasper Sloan Yip. Part of me really likes him because he's a Canadian boy, the majority of me likes him because he is amazing. I've been having a phase where I love bands with the twangy sweet pull of the banjo. This one is no different. I don't know what else to say but to take a listen.

These videos are interesting. Recently I've been posting up music videos because it's been kind of an escape from my everyday drudgery of working in a lab, but every so often there are videos that come about and pique the nerd child in me. Et voila!

Spelling isn't everything...

It's kinda sad when the name of your band is spelled wrong on your video, but I don't think this misspelling takes too much from the wispy, triumphant tones that CocoRosie delivers. I saw this at the top of the vimeo charts and it's long due. These two sisters deliver musicality in spades and their voices are just so freaking cool sounding. There's hardly a better combination in the world.

I don't get how this sensation of a song can only have 16,000 hits. I'm going to try to do my part to bring it back up. Repping some Canadian talent. I love Coeur de Pirate (aka. Beatrice Martin). I don't know what it is about her, her lovely voice, her pretty accent, her crazy tattoos, or how she seems to be a person who does her own thing. Whatever it is, it's loverly.

I stumbled upon this picture while perusing my favourite Chinese website. I have a soft spot for animal/vegetables. I thought the word to describe giving animal-like qualities to inanimate objects was anthropomorphism but it isn't. If you know what the word is please comment.

Mo' Paper

More sick = less posting. That's the general rule I operate upon. The holidays have been crazy but now that it's been taken care of I can start up with posting of awesomeness again.

My friend sent this to me and I found it pretty cool, then he told me it was done with folded up currency, and I thought it was amazing, then he said there's a whole website with this stuff and I was struck dumb.
